Logitech in action for UNICEF

Every child deserves an education, everyone is more aware of that now than ever before. Education creates chances, friendships and development. UNICEF has been engaged with education for all the children in this world for years. Logitech Benelux can proudly call itself a partner of UNICEF and support them in their education projects.

Education projects UNICEF

Can’t Wait to Learn

‘Can’t Wait to Learn’ is an innovative education program in Sudan where kids learn to read, write and count using tablets that work on solar energy. There are still three million children that can’t go to school in Sudan because of conflicts and floods in the country. That situation makes the development of children and younger people very difficult. With ‘Can’t Wait to Learn’, UNICEF offers access to good education to children so they are better prepared for the future. Together with the Sudanese government and partners, UNICEF ensures that children in remote areas have access to good education using tablets. Together with communities, they are building new classrooms where children can play and learn safely.

School-in-a-Box

‘School-in-a-Box’ is a part of UNICEF’s standard response in emergencies and is used in many back-to-school activities all over the world. The content of the box is culturally neutral, it can be used wherever in the world. In addition, the box can be supplemented with locally bought products, like books in local languages, toys, games and musical instruments. Notebooks are printed without margin so that both kids writing from left to right (ex. Latin and German languages) as from right to left (ex. Arabic, Hebrew) can use them. With one School-in-a-Box (€135 for the box and €45 transportation cost) a teacher can teach to 40 children. The lid of the box can be used as a blackboard by painting it with special blackboard paint from the box.

Microsoft Learning Passport

It started as an idea for a digital remote education platform for children on the run, a collaboration between UNICEF, Microsoft and the University of Cambridge. The pilot started this year and due to the corona crisis got rapidly adjusted and further developed to provide education to the millions of children who are forced to sit at home due to school closure. The platform also contains important study material for the teachers and educators. An innovative, scalable solution that already has been embraced nationwide in Ukraine, Timor-Leste and Jordan.

You can help Logitech in their action for UNICEF. ‘Till the 31st of September 2021, the MeetUp from Logitech is in action for UNICEF. With every MeetUp sold, Logitech will donate € 10 to education projects, where for example 40 notebooks can be bought. 20 sold MeetUps can possibly already give 50 teenagers a study package, consisting of pens, notebooks, folders, and many more necessities for education. With a little gesture, a lot can be accomplished.
