Although the aftermath of the holiday season is fading, we find ourselves extending the revelry a little longer. Mark your calendar  for January 11 as Discorp will be celebrating its 30th anniversary! Therefore, this year’s theme revolves around our journey, summarized by “30 years of Discorp”, providing a unique opportunity to dive into the origins and growth of our company. Join us in reflecting on the beginning of Discorp’s history and how we have grown over the years.

Foundation of Discorp

In 1994, Michel Rammeloo established Discorp with a focus on supplying Memory and Ram memory for large companies. Regular interactions with IT departments in companies revealed a major shortcoming in the services provided by traditional PC providers and dealer networks. The rapid evolution in software required swift adaptations of memory and other hardware components, a demand the traditional sales channels struggled to meet. This often led to a complete change of PC or server environment, which was a costly and impractical solution.

Recognizing this gap, we at Discorp expanded our product range and paid more attention to service and support. Our emphasis on adaptability has led us to the development of the one-stop-shopping concept. Today, we proudly offer a solution that not only addresses the challenges of the ever-changing market but also increases satisfaction and cost-effectiveness for our valued customers. That is also why our tagline goes as follows: ‘Discorp, your Partner in ICT Hardware & Services.’

  • 1994: Establishment of Discorp
    In 1994, Discorp was founded, the beginning of our remarkable journey. The company also contracted with the US to sell RAM.
  • 1996: Contract with Bakker Elkhuizen
    In 1996, an important partnership was formed with Bakker Elkhuizen, which led to the introduction of ergonomic products for the workplace.
  • 2002: Import of computer batteries from China (Samsung Cell)
    The year 2002 saw the import of computer batteries from China, allowing Discorp to offer replacement batteries for business PCs.
  • 2006: Launch of our first webshop
    As the business continued to evolve, 2006 witnessed the launch of the company’s first webshop.
  • 2003: Start partnership Targus Direct
  • 2005: Start of cooperation with Plantronics
  • 2006: Turnaround to all ICT related around the workplace & adoption of UC solutions
    In 2006, Discorp transformed, shifting its focus entirely to ICT hardware focused on the workplace. At the same time, we integrated Unified Communications (UC) solutions into our business model and entered into a strategic partnership with Plantronics.
  • 2014: Start partnership with Jabra & Stephanie Rammeloo joins the company
    Building on our commitment to innovation and collaboration, Discorp expanded its horizons in 2014 through an additional partnership with Jabra, solidifying our commitment to advanced technology and seamless communications solutions. Furthermore, Michel’s daughter Stephanie Rammeloo joined the company in 2014. The addition of Stephanie represented not only a staff augmentation but also a strategic move to secure the future of our organization.
  • 2019: Start AV Solutions
    Fast-forward to 2019, marking the beginning of our move into the audiovisual (AV) field, as we continue to evolve and adapt to the dynamic landscape of the information and communications technology sector.
  • 2021: A year of remarkable team expansion
    In 2021, Discorp evolved tremendously, expanding our team significantly. This expansion was not just a matter of numbers; it was a deliberate move to always provide an unparalleled service to our clients.
  • 2022: Exceptional sales growth
    The following year, our sales rose to unprecedented heights with a whopping 42.12% growth over the previous year. This remarkable achievement reflects our unwavering dedication to providing quality products and services, as well as our adaptability in responding to market demands.

Over the past years, Discorp has grown tremendously across various aspects. Our journey really shifted into an acceleration, marking a period where our progress has both been rapid and profound.

This momentum has naturally led to the expansion of our dedicated team. In just the last few years, our exceptional team has grown significantly, increasing from 12 members in 2018 to around 40 members today. This growth reflects our collective commitment to excellence and responsiveness to the evolving needs of our business landscape. The driving force behind this growth is the support and trust of our valued customers. Their trust has moved us forward and paved the way for loyal partnerships with our suppliers and distributors over the years.
